Rodriguez & Associates Files Lawsuit on Behalf of Teen Scalped by Go Cart

A teen who was seriously injured at MB2 Entertainment in Bakersfield, CA has filed a lawsuit against the go-carting facility, alleging negligence in the company’s safety procedures. Despite wearing a helmet and having her hair tied back, the teen’s hair became caught in the engine of the go-cart she was operating, effectively scalping her.

Eighteen-year-old Itzela Ayon is represented by the Bakersfield, California personal injury law firm, Rodriguez & Associates, known for its excellent trial record and tenacious representation of those who have been catastrophically injured. Chantal Trujillo, senior partner, and Danay Gonzalez, partner with the firm, say Ayon was never trained on the go-karts and was not asked to sign a waiver.

With painful and permanent physical and emotional injuries, Ayon faces extensive medical treatment and trauma. “The hair got caught up in the engine and it essentially ripped off her scalp, leaving some of her skull exposed … about 80% of it is gone, and as far as we can tell right now, it will not grow back,” Trujillo stated in an interview with KGET.

According to attorneys, Ayon is not the only person to have endured such a traumatic event at MB2 Entertainment, with a similar incident taking place earlier the same business week. “It’s unfortunate that [Ayan] is one of the people that had to experience this in order for [MB2 Entertainment] to realize they weren’t doing something correctly,” said Gonzalez. “We do know it happened twice in one week.”
